Confessions of a pregnant mama

I confess...

...I still have all my maternity clothes in a bin in the corner of my room. It's not bad to live out of a Tupperware for 10 months, is it?
...still haven't narrowed down any names for our baby boy. We are in no rush, clearly. HA.
... still haven't done any bedroom arrangements for our new addition. I think about it, yes... but no actions yet.

...we literally just did our taxes.. in the knick of time.

... I bought these Magnum Chocolate Bars and never told Justin before eating them. ALL. Oh geez. That was a big confession.

... that our infant carseat has been sitting in Elena's bedroom for weeks because we are too lazy to get it into the attic. How do people stay on top of things like this?!

... church with my kids gives me massive anxiety. When does taking them with us get any easier? Ever? Please tell me it is soon.

... we let Ty have two cupcakes on his birthday. Hey, he deserves a day of cupcake liberation. Just one though.
... I just now got this balloon down from our vaulted ceiling. We gave it to Elena on Valentine's Day. So it's been on our ceiling for two months.
...I was meaning to write a "Day in the Life" post this week, but never remembered to document a day in my life. That's my life.

Happy Thursday, friends! I hope that everyone has a fantastic day before Friday!

Confessions: spring, birthdays, and pregnancy

Thursday, March 31, 2016

I confess...

...my allergies have taken full affect now and I still haven't gotten any allergy medication. Not because I don't want to or because I want to tough it out. Because I am lazy. And I haven't gone to the store. So I am miserably stuffy and carry a BOX of tissue around with me instead. Makes sense.

...Ty's birthday is Saturday and I still haven't done anything for it besides reserve the gym. I think I am just too excited to not be hosting it at our house and it feels like a cake walk, so I am completely unprepared.  Here's to hoping that I will actually do something for it today.

...I still haven't gotten Ty's birthday present. Add it to my list. For real, it's hard to find any time without the kids to do things like buy presents for them. Any other SAHM's have this struggle?

...this week I got ENRAGED at Justin over what started as him surprising him with an early birthday present.  Is this pregnancy and all it's hormones over yet?!

...I max out my two cups of caffeine per day EVERYDAY. I am a little worried my little man is going to be born doing cartwheels and I will have a little wild thing on my hands. We shall see.

...I've had anxiety this week about my 30th birthday. Not turning 30. I'm not scared of getting older. But scared that Justin will wait until the last minute to plan anything. And this would be completely my fault because it was my brilliant idea to leave it all up to him so I could "relax and enjoy." But I've come to realize what a control freak I am and how badly I want to plan it myself. I am working on relaxing. Really, I am.

...almost every day this week after we put the kids to bed, I have gone straight to bed myself. I'm talking 8:00pm. And I am not mad about it. Sorry, not sorry. I have 6 months left until I can't so I am LIVING IT UP!

Have a great Thursday everyone! I hope everyone can take a second today to stop and smell the flowers (and not have an attack from all the pollen.)

Christmas Confessions

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

He's been here for weeks. Even the elf gave up! :)
I was catching up on my blogs one morning a few days ago and came across a post that really inspired me to share a small bit about my season so far. Jessica wrote her Christmas Confessions and I knew that I had some confessing to do also. Here are my confessions of the season:
  1. I started Elf on the Shelf this year and I haven't moved that sucker more than twice.
  2. I was planning on wrapping all my presents before December first. I have yet to wrap one gift.
  3. My intentions were to do a Christmas card each day for Justin this year in December. I never got around to making them, so no Christmas cards for Justin.
  4. I ordered and received my Christmas Cards back in October, but still haven't sent out half of them.
  5. Ty has watched Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas everyday all. month. long.
  6. I haven't followed my plans for Ty's crafts at all. We've only done the ones that I could get ready last minute. Thankfully he has no idea. HA.
  7. I had planned to write about having a restful holiday season, but that would've been a complete joke because I have not had one so far.
Still two weeks until Christmas so I am not worried about getting my cards out and wrapping my gifts.  It really just goes to show that you can have all the plans in the world and life can easily get in the way! I don't feel the least bit guilty though because here's what I HAVE done this Christmas season:
  1. Nursed two kids kids back to health. Hand-foot-mouth is the WORST!
  2. Started a business and done 10+ photo sessions.
  3. Started working as a teacher at the church nursery.
  4. Raked our front yard only about 100 times because that darn tree dropped leaves every day!
  5. Made home cooked dinners every single night of the week. No eating out means more cooking at home!
  6. Returned broken Christmas lights to Walmart and gone to Fed Ex with two kids in tow. Don't y'all think all places should have a service that brings items to your car or picks them up from your car so mothers don't have to unload their children every single time they need to run  a small errand? Just sayin'.
I hope that even if all of your holiday plans haven't played out the way you thought they would, your Christmas is still amazing, productive, and meaningful for your families!
